Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn (color of your choice)
  • Crochet hook (size appropriate for your yarn)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Gauge: Gauge is not critical for this pattern.

Pattern:

Sole (make 2):

  1. Chain a multiple of 4 stitches plus 2 additional stitches. For example, chain 22 stitches.
  2. Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, make 1 single crochet. Single crochet in each remaining chain across. (Total number of stitches should be a multiple of 4+2, e.g., 22 stitches)
  3. Row 2: Chain 1, turn your work. Single crochet in the first stitch and each stitch across until the last stitch. In the last stitch, make 3 single crochet stitches. (24 stitches)
  4. Row 3: Chain 1, turn your work. Single crochet in each stitch across until the last 3 stitches. In the last 3 stitches, make 1 single crochet decrease (single crochet 2 together) followed by 1 single crochet in the last stitch. (22 stitches)
  5. Repeat Row 3 until your work measures the desired length of the sole, fitting the intended foot size. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Upper Part:

  1. Attach the yarn to one corner of the sole. Chain 1.
  2. Round 1: Single crochet evenly around the edge of the sole, making sure to work 1 single crochet stitch in each row along the sides and 3 single crochet stitches in each corner. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round. (Total number of stitches should be the same as the number of rows on the sides of the sole)
  3. Round 2: Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round.
  4. Repeat Round 2 until the upper part of the slipper reaches the desired height, usually covering the top of the foot.
  5. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Straps:

  1. Attach the yarn to one side of the slipper, slightly towards the front.
  2. Chain a length that can comfortably go over the foot and reach the opposite side of the slipper.
  3. Slip stitch into the opposite side of the slipper, slightly towards the front. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
  4. Repeat for the second strap on the other side of the slipper.

Finishing:

  1. Weave in any remaining loose ends using a yarn needle.
  2. Repeat the entire process to create the second slipper.
