Materials you’ll need:

Crochet hook suitable for the yarn weight
Yarn needle
Scissors
Pattern:
Note: This pattern assumes basic knowledge of crochet stitches such as chains (ch), single crochets (sc), and double crochets (dc).
Start by making a foundation chain that will fit around your head. Measure the circumference of your head, and chain a multiple of 3 stitches until you reach the desired length. Make sure it’s not too tight, as you’ll want it to stretch slightly when worn.
Join the last chain to the first with a slip stitch, being careful not to twist the chain. This will create a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in each chain around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each sc around. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc.
Round 3-6: Repeat Round 2.
Round 7 (Brim): Ch 1, sc in the back loop only of each dc around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
Round 8-10: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends using a yarn needle.
Feel free to customize the pattern as you like. You can experiment with different stitches, add stripes, or embellish the hat with buttons, flowers, or pom-poms to make it unique.
