Materials needed:
Worsted weight yarn in your preferred colors (main color for the bear, contrasting color for the blanket)
Crochet hook size G/6 (4.0 mm)
Safety eyes
Stuffing
Scissors
Yarn needle
Note: This pattern uses US crochet terminology.
Bear Body:
Start with the main color yarn. Make a magic ring.
Round 1: Work 6 single crochet (sc) stitches into the magic ring. (6 stitches)
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
Round 3: Work 1 sc in the next stitch, then 2 sc in the next stitch. Repeat from * to * around. (18 stitches)
Round 4: Work 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then 2 sc in the next stitch. Repeat from * to * around. (24 stitches)
Rounds 5-14: Work 1 sc in each stitch around. (24 stitches)
Attach safety eyes between rounds 7 and 8, leaving a few stitches between them.
Round 15: Work 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then decrease 1 sc over the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * to * around. (18 stitches)
Round 16: Work 1 sc in the next stitch, then decrease 1 sc over the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * to * around. (12 stitches)
Stuff the bear firmly.
Round 17: Decrease 1 sc over each pair of stitches around. (6 stitches)
Fasten off and weave in the yarn tail to close the opening.
Bear Ears (Make 2):
Start with the main color yarn.
Make a magic ring.
Round 1: Work 6 sc stitches into the magic ring. (6 stitches)
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
Round 3: Work 1 sc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Blanket:
Start with the contrasting color yarn.
Chain 26 stitches.
Row 1: Work 1 sc in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across. (25 stitches)
Rows 2-25: Chain 1 stitch, turn your work, and work 1 sc in each stitch across. (25 stitches)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
