Measurements:
Measure the circumference of your dog’s neck to determine the desired width of the scarf. Also, measure from the base of your dog’s neck to the desired length of the scarf.
Scarf:
Using the measurements you’ve taken, you can customize the starting chain to achieve the width you want. Keep in mind that the scarf should be long enough to comfortably wrap around your dog’s neck with a little extra room.
Ch your desired number of stitches, based on the width you want (e.g., 10-20 stitches depending on your dog’s size and yarn thickness).
Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across. (The number of stitches in this row should match your starting chain.)
Rows 2 and beyond: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. Repeat Row 2 until the scarf reaches the desired length. Make sure to measure it against your dog’s neck to get the correct length.
Finishing:
Fasten off and weave in any remaining yarn tails. If desired, you can add fringes or tassels to the ends of the scarf for a decorative touch.
