Materials:
Worsted weight yarn in your choice of colors (A, B, C, etc.)
Appropriate crochet hook size for your yarn
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations:
ch: chain
dc: double crochet
st(s): stitch(es)
RS: right side
WS: wrong side
Pattern:
Foundation Row: With Color A, ch a multiple of your desired width + 2 (for example, ch 102 for a width of 100 sts).
Note: You can adjust the chain count based on your desired project width.
Row 1 (RS): Starting in the 3rd ch from the hook, dc in each ch across. Turn. (100 dc)
Row 2 (WS): Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each st across. Turn.
Rows 3-10: Repeat Row 2, changing colors every 2 rows. For a more “prairie” look, you can choose earthy and rustic colors.
Rows 11-12: With Color A, repeat Row 2.
Rows 13-20: Repeat Rows 3-10, changing colors every 2 rows.
Rows 21-22: With Color A, repeat Row 2.
Continue repeating Rows 3-22 until your project reaches your desired length, ending with Rows 11-12.
Finishing:
Fasten off and weave in all ends using a yarn needle.
