- Cable needle
- Stitch markers
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Gauge: Approximately 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Pattern:
Note: This pattern uses US knitting terminology.
Back Panel:
- Cast on the desired number of stitches for the back panel based on your bust measurement. (For example, cast on 90 stitches for a bust measurement of 36 inches and a gauge of 5 stitches per inch.)
- Knit in stockinette stitch until the back panel measures the desired length from the base of the neck to the waist.
Front Panels:
- Cast on the same number of stitches as the back panel.
- Knit in stockinette stitch until the front panels match the length of the back panel.
- On the next row (right side), place markers at the center of each panel to indicate the placement of the cable pattern.
- Continue knitting in stockinette stitch, working the cable pattern between the markers on the right side rows.
- Repeat the cable pattern every few rows or as desired, ensuring that the pattern is symmetrical on both front panels.
- Continue knitting until the front panels match the length of the back panel.
Sleeves (make 2):
- Cast on the desired number of stitches for the sleeves based on your arm circumference.
- Knit in stockinette stitch, working any desired pattern or texture if desired.
- Increase 1 stitch at each end of every 8th row until the sleeve reaches the desired length.
- Continue knitting without increases until the sleeve matches the length of the back panel.
- Bind off all stitches.
Assembly:
- Seam the shoulders together using a mattress stitch or the desired seaming method.
- Seam the sides of the front and back panels together.
- Seam the sleeves to the body, aligning the top of the sleeve with the shoulder seam.
- Weave in any loose ends.
