Cactus Hand CROCHET PATTERN / Amigurumi cactus pattern

Materials you will need:

• Worsted weight yarn in green for the cactus and various colors for details (optional)
• Crochet hook suitable for your yarn weight
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Pattern:

Cactus Hand Puppet Body:

1. Start with a magic ring (or you can chain 2 and work in the second chain from the hook).
2. Round 1: Make 6 single crochet (sc) stitches into the magic ring (or second chain from the hook). Pull the ring tight to close. (6 stitches)
3. Round 2: Work 2 sc stitches into each stitch around. (12 stitches)
4. Round 3: Sc in the next stitch, 2 sc in the next stitch Repeat from * to * around. (18 stitches)
5. Rounds 4-9: Sc in each stitch around. (18 stitches)
6. Round 10: Sc in the next stitch, sc2tog (single crochet two stitches together) in the next two stitches Repeat from * to * around. (12 stitches)
7. Stuff the cactus body firmly with fiberfill.
8. Round 11: Sc2tog in each stitch around. (6 stitches)
9. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Cactus Arms (Make 2):

1. Chain 11.
2. Row 1: Starting in the second chain from the hook, sc in each chain across. (10 stitches)
3. Rows 2-14: Sc in each stitch across. (10 stitches)
4. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

1. Attach the arms to the sides of the cactus body using the long tails left from the arms. Position them about halfway up the body, making sure they’re evenly spaced.
2. Optional: Add facial details to your cactus using different colored yarn. You can sew on eyes, embroider a smile, or get creative with other decorations.
3. Slip your hand inside the puppet, using the cactus body as a hand cover.
