Materials:
- Chunky or bulky weight yarn in your preferred color(s)
- Knitting needles suitable for your chosen yarn weight (recommended size: US 10 or larger)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Instructions:
- Size: This pattern is written for a standard lap-sized blanket, but you can adjust it by modifying the number of stitches and rows to fit your preference.
- Cast On:
- Cast on the desired number of stitches for the width of your blanket. For example, you can start with a cast on of 100 stitches.
- Knitting:
- Row 1: Knit all stitches.
- Repeat Row 1 for every row until the blanket reaches the desired length. You can continue repeating the rows for a solid-colored blanket or change colors at any point to create stripes or color blocks.
- Binding Off:
- When you’ve reached the desired length, bind off all stitches. You can use a regular bind off or a stretchier bind off method, such as the Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off, if desired.
- Finishing:
- Weave in any loose ends using a yarn needle.
- Block the blanket if necessary, following the yarn manufacturer’s instructions. Blocking helps even out the stitches and gives the blanket a more finished look.
