Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (or yarn of your choice)
- Knitting needles (size recommended for your yarn)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Pattern:
Note: This pattern assumes you have basic knitting knowledge, including casting on, knitting, and binding off.
- Cast on: Using your preferred cast-on method, cast on an even number of stitches. The number of stitches will determine the width of your blanket. You can choose any width you prefer.
- Knit rows: Row 1: Knit across all stitches. Row 2: Purl across all stitches.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until your blanket reaches the desired length. You can continue this pattern for a solid blanket or switch to different stitch patterns for variation.
- Bind off: Once your blanket has reached the desired length, bind off all stitches in your final row. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
- Finishing: Weave in any loose ends using a yarn needle. Block your blanket if desired by gently wetting it and laying it flat to dry, reshaping it as needed.
Optional:
- You can add stripes by changing yarn colors at the beginning of a row.
- To create a textured blanket, you can incorporate different stitch patterns, such as seed stitch, ribbing, or cables, in place of the basic knit and purl rows.
