CHRISTMAS BLANKET

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in various colors (red, green, white, etc.)
• Crochet hook (size H/5.0mm or size recommended for your yarn)

Pattern:

Note: This pattern uses US crochet terminology.

1. Foundation: Chain a multiple of stitches + 2 to reach your desired blanket width. For example, chain 130 for a standard throw blanket.
2. Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, work 1 sc. Work 1 sc in each chain across. (This row sets up the foundation row)
3. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Work 1 sc in each stitch across.
4. Rows 3-4: Repeat Row 2.
5. Christmas Tree Motif: In this section, you will create Christmas tree motifs at regular intervals across the blanket.

Row 5 (Motif Row): Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), turn. Work 1 dc in the next stitch. Skip 2 stitches. Work 5 dc in the next stitch (this forms the tree shape). Skip 2 stitches. Work 1 dc in each of the next 3 stitches. Repeat from * to * across the row, ending with 1 dc in the last stitch.

Rows 6-7: Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), turn. Work 1 dc in each stitch across.

Rows 8-9: Repeat Row 6.

10. Repeat: Continue repeating Rows 5-9, creating Christmas tree motifs at regular intervals across the blanket. You can adjust the spacing between the motifs based on your preference.
11. Finishing: Once the blanket reaches your desired length, finish off with a few rows of single crochet or a decorative border. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
