- Start by making a foundation chain that is the desired circumference of the pullover’s bottom edge, making sure it is a multiple of the stitch pattern repeat plus 2 extra chains for turning.
- Row 1: In the third chain from the hook, work 1 double crochet (dc). Work 1 dc in each chain across. Turn.
- Row 2: Chain 2 (counts as 1 half double crochet (hdc)), skip the first stitch, work 1 hdc in the next stitch, work 1 front post double crochet (fpdc) around the next stitch. Repeat * to * across until the last stitch. Work 1 hdc in the last stitch. Turn.
- Row 3: Chain 2 (counts as 1 hdc), skip the first stitch, work 1 front post double crochet (fpdc) around the next hdc, work 1 hdc in the next fpdc. Repeat * to * across until the last stitch. Work 1 hdc in the turning chain. Turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the pullover reaches the desired length, alternating between the textured stitch rows.
- Sleeves: On the last row of the body, mark the stitches where you want the sleeves to start on each side of the pullover.
- Join yarn at the first marked stitch and work in the same textured stitch pattern for the desired length of the sleeves. Fasten off.
- Repeat the same process for the other sleeve.
- Neckline: Starting at the front center of the pullover, join yarn and work in the same textured stitch pattern along the neckline. Fasten off.
- Finishing: Sew the side seams of the pullover and the sleeves using a yarn needle and the mattress stitch or whip stitch. Weave in any loose ends.
