Crochet Mushrooms

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in desired mushroom colors (typically white for the cap and brown for the stem)
Crochet hook suitable for the yarn weight
Fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle
Scissors
Abbreviations:

Ch: Chain
Sc: Single crochet
Inc: Increase (work two single crochet stitches in the same stitch)
Dec: Decrease (crochet two single crochet stitches together)
Instructions:

Mushroom Cap:

Start with the mushroom cap color.
Make a magic ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, work 6 sc into the magic ring. Pull the ring tight. (6 stitches)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
Round 3: Sc in the next stitch, inc in the next stitch Repeat from * to * around. (18 stitches)
Round 4: Sc in the next 2 stitches, inc in the next stitch Repeat from * to * around. (24 stitches)
Round 5: Sc in the next 3 stitches, inc in the next stitch Repeat from * to * around. (30 stitches)
Rounds 6-10: Sc in each stitch around. (30 stitches)
Fasten off and weave in the loose ends.
Mushroom Stem:

Switch to the mushroom stem color.
Leave a long tail for sewing.
Chain 9.
Row 1: Starting from the second chain from the hook, sc in each chain across. (8 stitches)
Rows 2-25: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch across. (8 stitches)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
