- Body of the Shawl: Row 1: In the third chain from the hook, work 1 dc. Work 1 dc in each chain across. (79 dc) Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Work 1 sc in each stitch across. (79 sc) Rows 3-40: Repeat Row 2.
- Pocket Edging: Row 41: Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), turn. Work 1 dc in each of the first 3 stitches. Ch 15, skip the next 15 stitches, and work 1 dc in each of the last 24 stitches. (27 dc, 15 ch) Row 42: Ch 1, turn. Work 1 sc in each stitch and chain across. (42 sc) Row 43: Ch 3, turn. Work 1 dc in each stitch across. (42 dc)
- Pocket: Row 44: Ch 1, turn. Work 1 sc in each of the first 3 stitches. Ch 15, skip the next 15 stitches, and work 1 sc in each of the last 24 stitches. (27 sc, 15 ch) Row 45: Ch 1, turn.
