Materials you’ll need:
- Worsted weight yarn (or any yarn weight of your choice)
- Crochet hook suitable for your yarn (check the yarn label for recommendations)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Instructions:
- Chain 4 stitches.
- Row 1: Double crochet (dc) into the 4th chain from the hook. This creates your first cluster. Chain 1, skip 1 chain, and work another dc into the next chain. This forms your second cluster. Turn your work.
- Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc into the chain space of the first cluster. Chain 1, work 2 dc into the chain space of the next cluster. Repeat this pattern of (2 dc, chain 1, 2 dc) into each chain space across. Turn your work.
- Repeat Row 2 until your shawl reaches the desired width. You can continue repeating this row to create a triangular shawl, or you can switch to a different stitch pattern or shaping technique to achieve the desired look.
- Once you reach the desired width, you can finish off your shawl by adding a border. This is optional but can add a nice touch to your design. You can choose a simple border, such as working single crochet (sc) stitches around the edge of the shawl, or you can select a more intricate border pattern based on your preference.
- When you’re satisfied with the size and design of your shawl, fasten off your yarn, leaving a long tail. Use a tapestry needle to weave in any loose ends, making sure they are secure and hidden within the stitches.
