Main Body:
- Chain a multiple of 6 stitches plus 3 additional stitches. For example, chain 159 stitches.
- Row 1: In the fourth chain from the hook, make 1 double crochet. Double crochet in each remaining chain across. (Total number of stitches should be a multiple of 6+3, e.g., 159 stitches)
- Row 2: Chain 1, turn your work. Single crochet in the first stitch and each stitch across. (159 stitches)
- Row 3: Chain 1, turn your work. Single crochet in the first stitch, chain 3, skip 2 stitches, single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat from * to * across until the last 2 stitches. Chain 3, skip 1 stitch, single crochet in the last stitch. (53 chain-3 spaces)

- Repeat Rows 2-4 until your work measures the desired length of the shawl, ending with Row 2.
Feather Wings: Note: Each feather wing is worked separately.
- To start the first feather wing, attach the yarn to the edge of the shawl where you want the wing to be.
- Row 1: Chain 1, make 7 single crochet stitches evenly along the edge of the shawl. Turn your work.
