Description

Materials needed:

Worsted weight yarn in your desired color
Crochet hook (size G or H)
Scissors
Yarn needle
Button or decorative embellishment (optional)
Pattern:

Start by making a slipknot with the yarn and then chain a length that fits comfortably around your head. The average headband size is around 20-22 inches, so you can adjust the chain length accordingly. Make sure the chain isn’t too tight or too loose.

Once you have the desired chain length, turn your work and single crochet (sc) in the second chain from the hook. Continue single crocheting across the row, creating a neat edge.

Chain one and turn your work. Single crochet in each stitch across the row. Repeat this row until your headband reaches the desired width. You can make it as narrow or as wide as you like.

When you’re satisfied with the width, fasten off the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Cut the yarn and weave in any loose ends using a yarn needle.

Take the two ends of the headband and overlap them to create a loop. Use the long tail of yarn to sew the ends together securely. You can use a whip stitch or any other sewing technique that you prefer.

If desired, you can add a decorative button or embellishment to the front of the headband. Sew it securely using the yarn needle and yarn.

Trim any excess yarn and give your headband a final look.
