Step 1: Starting Square
- Chain 6.
- In the fourth chain from the hook, work 1 double crochet (DC). This counts as your first block.
- Work 1 DC in each of the next two chains. You now have a starting square with three blocks.
- Chain 6 and turn your work.
Step 2: Increasing Rows
- Slip stitch into the third chain of the starting chain-6 from the previous row.
- Chain 3 (counts as first DC), work 3 DC in the chain-3 space of the previous row.
- Chain 3, turn your work.
- Slip stitch into the third chain of the chain-6 space from the previous row.
- Chain 3, work 3 DC in the same chain-3 space.
- Work 3 DC in each chain-3 space across.
- Chain 3, turn your work.
- Repeat steps 4-7 until your blanket reaches the desired width. Each row will have one additional block compared to the previous row.
Step 3: Decreasing Rows
- Slip stitch into the third chain of the chain-6 space from the previous row.
- Chain 3, work 3 DC in the same chain-3 space.
- Work 3 DC in each chain-3 space across.
- Chain 3, turn your work.
- Repeat steps 1-4 until you reach the desired length for your blanket. Each row will have one fewer block compared to the previous row.
Step 4: Edging
- To create a neat edge, work 1 slip stitch in each stitch and chain across the final row.
- Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Feel free to get creative with your color choices and design. You can use a graph or pixelated image to create a specific pattern within the C2C technique. Remember to adjust your yarn and hook size if you want a smaller or larger blanket. Enjoy crocheting your C2C blanket!
