C2C CROCHET BLANKET

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in various colors
• Crochet hook (size H/5mm or size needed to obtain gauge)
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: Gauge is not crucial for this pattern as it can be easily adjusted to your desired size.

Pattern:

Note: This pattern uses US crochet terminology.

Step 1: Starting Square

1. Chain 6.
2. In the fourth chain from the hook, work 1 double crochet (DC). This counts as your first block.
3. Work 1 DC in each of the next two chains. You now have a starting square with three blocks.
4. Chain 6 and turn your work.

Step 2: Increasing Rows

1. Slip stitch into the third chain of the starting chain-6 from the previous row.
2. Chain 3 (counts as first DC), work 3 DC in the chain-3 space of the previous row.
3. Chain 3, turn your work.
4. Slip stitch into the third chain of the chain-6 space from the previous row.
5. Chain 3, work 3 DC in the same chain-3 space.
6. Work 3 DC in each chain-3 space across.
7. Chain 3, turn your work.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 until your blanket reaches the desired width. Each row will have one additional block compared to the previous row.

Step 3: Decreasing Rows

1. Slip stitch into the third chain of the chain-6 space from the previous row.
2. Chain 3, work 3 DC in the same chain-3 space.
3. Work 3 DC in each chain-3 space across.
4. Chain 3, turn your work.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 until you reach the desired length for your blanket. Each row will have one fewer block compared to the previous row.

Step 4: Edging

1. To create a neat edge, work 1 slip stitch in each stitch and chain across the final row.
2. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
