Materials needed:

Worsted weight yarn in brown, white, and red
Crochet hook suitable for the yarn weight
Safety eyes or black embroidery thread
Stuffing

Inc: Increase (2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch)
Dec: Decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)

Using brown yarn,

Inc in each stitch around (12)
Sc, inc repeat around (18)
Sc 2, inc repeat around (24)
Sc 3, inc repeat around (30)
Sc 4, inc repeat around (36)
Sc 5, inc repeat around (42)
8-14. Sc in each stitch around (42)
Sc 5, dec repeat around (36)
Sc 4, dec repeat around (30)
Sc 3, dec repeat around (24)
Sc 2, dec repeat around (18)
Stuff the head.
Sc, dec repeat around (12)
F/O and leave a long tail for sewing. Weave in the end.
Eyes (make 2):
Using white yarn,

Magic ring, 6 sc in the ring (6)
F/O and leave a tail for sewing. Attach the safety eyes or embroider eyes using black thread.
Box:
Using red yarn,

Ch 16
Starting from the second chain from the hook, sc in each chain across (15)
3-6. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch across (15)
F/O and leave a tail for sewing.
Assembly:

Sew the eyes onto the head, leaving 4 stitches between them.
Embroider a small smile beneath the eyes using black thread.
Sew the box onto the bottom of the head, aligning it with the front.
