Crochet Mandy Headband

Materials needed:

Worsted weight yarn in your desired color
Crochet hook (size H/5mm)
Scissors
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Button or other embellishment (optional)
Pattern:
Note: This pattern is worked in rows.

Row 1: Chain 66 (or a chain that fits comfortably around your head), single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn. (65 stitches)

Row 2: Chain 1, single crochet in the first stitch, single crochet in each stitch across. Turn. (65 stitches)

Rows 3-6: Repeat Row 2. This creates the base for the headband.

Row 7: Chain 1, single crochet in the first 3 stitches, chain 3, skip 3 stitches, single crochet in the next 3 stitches – repeat from * to * across, ending with a single crochet in the last stitch. Turn.

Row 8: Chain 1, single crochet in the first stitch, chain 3, single crochet in the next chain-3 space, chain 3, single crochet in the next single crochet – repeat from * to * across, ending with a single crochet in the last stitch. Turn.

Row 9: Chain 1, single crochet in the first 3 stitches, 3 single crochet in the next chain-3 space, single crochet in the next single crochet – repeat from * to * across, ending with a single crochet in the last stitch. Turn.

Row 10: Repeat Row 8.

Rows 11-12: Repeat Rows 7-8.

Rows 13-18: Repeat Rows 3-6. This finishes the main portion of the headband.

Optional: Attach a button or other embellishment to one end of the headband for added detail.

Finishing:
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
