Pattern:
Note: This pattern is worked in rounds. You will need to join each round with a slip stitch and chain 1 at the beginning of each round.
Begin by making a slip knot with Color A and chaining 3. Join the last chain with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1: Chain 1. Work 10 single crochet stitches into the ring. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.
Round 2: Chain 1. Work 2 single crochet stitches into each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet. (20 stitches)
Round 3: Chain 1. Work 1 single crochet into the next stitch, then work 2 single crochet stitches into the following stitch. Repeat from * to * around. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet. (30 stitches)
Round 4: Change to Color B. Chain 1. Work 1 single crochet into each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.
Round 5: Chain 1. Work 1 single crochet into each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.
Repeat Rounds 4 and 5 until you reach your desired length for the beanie. Alternate between Color A and Color B for the striped effect. You can choose to make equal-sized stripes or vary the width as desired.
When you’ve reached the desired length, fasten off the yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through the yarn needle and weave it through the stitches of the last round to close the top of the beanie.
Weave in any remaining ends and trim excess yarn.
