Afghan Squared Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in your desired colors
• Crochet hook (appropriate size for your yarn)
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Pattern:

1. Start with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet), work 2 double crochets into the magic ring. Chain 2, 3 double crochets into the magic ring, chain 2. Repeat – three more times. Slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain 3 to join the round.
3. Round 2: Slip stitch into the next two double crochets and into the next chain-2 space. Chain 3, work 2 double crochets into the same chain-2 space. Chain 2, 3 double crochets into the next chain-2 space, chain 2. Repeat – three more times. Slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain 3 to join the round.
4. Round 3: Slip stitch into the next two double crochets and into the next chain-2 space. Chain 3, work 2 double crochets into the same chain-2 space. Chain 2, 3 double crochets into the next chain-2 space, chain 2. Repeat – three more times. Slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain 3 to join the round.
5. Rounds 4 and onwards: Repeat Round 3, working the same pattern of 3 double crochets into each chain-2 space and chain 2 in between, until your square reaches the desired size.
